Travel Physical Therapist (PT) Company: Fusion Medical Staffing Location: Facility in Haverhill, Massachusetts This is a 13‑week travel assignment for a skilled Physical Therapist. Required Qualifications Valid Physical Therapy license in compliance with state regulations Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC) Preferred Qualifications Doctorate degree in physical therapy Physical Therapy experience (new grads are welcome to apply) Other certifications or licenses may be required for this position Summary The Physical Therapist evaluates, diagnoses, and treats patients with physical impairments to improve mobility, reduce pain, and enhance quality of life. Working in hospitals, clinics, and rehabilitation centers, they develop personalized, evidence‑based treatment plans using exercise and manual therapy. Essential Work Functions Evaluate patients’ conditions using standardized tests, clinical examinations, and patient history to identify functional limitations and treatment needs. Develop personalized rehabilitation programs based on assessment findings and patient goals. Implement physical therapy treatment plans using various techniques to improve mobility and reduce pain. Operate physical therapy equipment and modalities safely and effectively, ensuring proper maintenance and calibration. Assess patient progress, adjust treatment plans as necessary, and accurately document outcomes in the medical record. Work closely with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care and optimize outcomes. Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise, body mechanics, injury prevention, and self‑management. Maintain a safe treatment environment by adhering to infection control protocols, safety guidelines, and regulatory standards. Engage in quality assurance initiatives and professional development to stay current with best practices. Collaborate in discharge planning to ensure smooth transitions and continued progress. Perform other duties as assigned within scope of practice. Required Essential Skills and Physical Abilities Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication. Read, write, and communicate in English. Follow written and verbal instructions. Proficiency in PC skills. Physical: remain stationary, move about, move equipment (50‑100 lbs), push, pull, bend. Interpersonal: work effectively with varied personnel, present positive attitude. Technical/Motor: grasp, fine manipulation, assist with procedures and equipment. Mental: handle frequent public contact, meet deadlines under pressure, work occasionally under close supervision. Sensory: possess visual acuity and effective communication.
