Physician - Gastroenterology

Job Details:

• Gastroenterology coverage for a 12-month assignment
• EMR system: Meditech
• Client is open to two providers alternating weeks but strongly prefers one consistent provider
• Virtual interviews with service line leadership and OR team
• APP support provided
• Clinic hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM 5:00 PM
• Call structure shared with the other provider; offsite call with a 30-minute response time for emergency consultations and 12 hours for routine calls
• After-hours call frequency: approximately 1 2 times per week, most commonly for active bleeds
• Average procedures per day:
• Required procedures include Upper Endoscopies (EGD) and Colonoscopies
• ERCP required at mid-level/moderate complexity; EUS and EMR not required
• Specialty procedures include esophageal, duodenal, or luminal stent placement; argon plasma coagulation; biopsies of the esophagus, stomach, small bowel, and colon; colonoscopy with or without polypectomy; diagnostic and therapeutic EGD; enteral alimentation; esophageal dilation; foreign body removal via EGD; flexible sigmoidoscopy; GI motility studies and 24-hour pH monitoring; non-variceal hemostasis; and percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy (PEG)
• Patient population is complex and often non-compliant; providers with strong relationship-building and communication skills are highly preferred
