Technical Writer-SOP Specialist

Our client, a local company, is seeking a Remote Technical Writer specializing in Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) who will be responsible for researching, drafting, and maintaining clear, concise, and accurate documentation that outlines business processes and workflows. This person will translate complex technical information into easy-to-follow, step-by-step instructions, ensuring compliance with industry standards and facilitating consistent day-to-day operations.

Core Responsibilities:

Draft and Edit SOPs: Produce high-quality, clear and actionable SOPs, work instructions, and user guides.

Information and Gathering: Interview Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and observe employees performing tasks to accurately document workflows.

Process Improvement: collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify bottlenecks and recommend improvements to enhance operational efficiency.

Compliance and Standards: Ensure all documentation adheres to regulatory requirements (e.g., GMP,ISO), safety standards, and company policies.

Documentation Control: Maintain, update, and archive existing documentation in a centralized system to ensure accuracy and version control.

Visual Enhancements: Incorporate diagrams, screenshots, and flowcharts to improve understanding.

Standardization: Maintain a consistent style, tone and formatting across all organizational documentation.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing, Communications, English, or a related field.

Experience: 5-10 years of experience in technical writing, specifically focusing on procedure documentation (SOPs), preferably in a regulated environment.

Writing Proficiency: Excellent command of the English language, with the ability to simplify complex technical information for non-technical users.

Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy in instructions.

Software Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft.

This a part time remote role paying $30-$40/hour, more for the right person.
