As a Senior Collections Specialist, you’ll play an important role in helping customers navigate challenging financial situations while protecting the quality and performance of the bank’s consumer and small business lending portfolio. This position combines relationship management, problem-solving, and analytical decision-making to support successful collection and recovery outcomes while delivering a positive customer experience.

• Manage collection and recovery activities on assigned consumer, small business (QuickStep), and credit card accounts, including complex delinquency and recovery situations.
• Evaluate account performance and risk factors to recommend appropriate collection and recovery strategies.
• Prepare recommendations related to repossession, litigation, charge-offs, and other significant recovery actions.
• Analyze complex delinquent accounts and determine effective short- and long-term recovery plans.
• Administer bankruptcy accounts, including required correspondence, court reporting, and coordination of related recovery activities.
• Communicate with borrowers regarding late payments, collection efforts, demand letters, repayment arrangements, and account resolution options.
• Prepare monthly collection reports and recommend actions to support portfolio performance and loss mitigation.
• Monitor assigned accounts to maintain acceptable delinquency levels and minimize loan losses.
• Ensure all collection and recovery activities comply with bank policies, procedures, security standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Identify and escalate potential compliance concerns as appropriate.

• You have a High School Diploma or GED (Required).
• You have 4 or more years of experience in collections, recovery, loan servicing, or a related financial services function, including experience managing complex delinquent accounts and collection activities (Required).
• You have an equivalent combination of education and experience that may be considered in lieu of a degree requirement.

• You have a strong understanding of consumer lending, small business lending, and credit card products.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable learning new systems and technology.
• You communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing.
• You build rapport with customers and use strong negotiation skills to achieve successful account resolutions.
• Highly organized and able to manage multiple priorities effectively.
• You understand federal and state laws and regulations related to consumer lending, small business lending, collections, and credit cards.
• You bring sound judgment, professionalism, and a customer-focused approach to every interaction.
