Lab Support Technician

Abcam seeks a Lab Support Technician to support daily laboratory operations at its Waltham site. The role involves performing hands-on support tasks including autoclaving, media preparation, waste management, and equipment maintenance to ensure safe and efficient lab environments.
Responsibilities
- Operate autoclaves, perform glasswashing, and prepare buffers and media for lab use
- Manage chemical and biological waste and conduct routine safety equipment inspections
- Coordinate equipment maintenance tasks and communicate with internal teams and vendors
- Maintain PPE stock levels and support lab safety compliance activities
- Keep accurate records and ensure labs remain operationally ready
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Hands-on experience in laboratory, safety, facilities, or workplace operations support
- Strong organizational and communication skills with ability to manage multiple tasks
- Proficiency with standard office tools including email, spreadsheets, and ticketing systems
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally and 15 lbs routinely
- Reliable transportation to on-site Waltham location
Compensation: $25.06 per hour
