Software Development Engineer

Requirements Must have: We bring at least 5 years of professional software development experience beyond internships. We have at least 5 years of programming experience in one or more languages. We have at least 5 years of experience leading design or architecture for new and existing systems, including patterns, reliability, and scaling. We have experience as a mentor, technical lead, or engineering team lead. We have 5+ years of full software development lifecycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations. We hold a bachelors degree in computer science or an equivalent field. We understand software engineering best practices across the full development lifecycle, including architecture, continuous deployment, testing, and operational excellence. We have experience with video encoding and streaming media standards. We have experience working with Linux, Wine, Proton, and related operating system stack components. Responsibilities: We design, build, test, and operate scalable services that support our streaming infrastructure end to end. We develop rapid proof-of-concepts, refine prototypes, and deliver production-ready code while balancing cost, timing, and performance. We partner closely with product managers, engineers, and QA to ship customer-facing features that satisfy technical and business objectives. We act as technical leaders by guiding architecture choices, reviewing code, and promoting best practices. We work across Windows, Linux, Wine, Proton, and streaming technologies, while also contributing strategic input on product direction. We own projects from idea through production and iterate quickly based on feedback. We provide technical insight to help shape implementation priorities. We collaborate regularly across our broader organization to align engineering execution with business goals.
