Job Surplus Lines Tax Analyst

Surplus Lines Tax AnalystThis position is open to multiple U.S. locationsThe surplus lines tax analyst is responsible for coordinating timely filing and payment of surplus lines taxes to respective state(s). At most, six states will be the responsibility of one person. As part of a team that files taxes, each analyst will be cross-trained in at least one other state to be able to support colleagues on and across teams. Primary tasks include running reports, filing taxes, investigating and resolving corrections, answering questions from field offices, and collaborating with state insurance departments.Job Duties:Timely and accurate completion of agency/individual regulatory surplus lines tax filing reportsProvide professional advice and counsel internally regarding surplus lines taxes; Assist peers with finding and interpreting state regulations pertaining to surplus lines tax filings, as requiredCommunicate with state insurance departments to ensure proper statutory compliance with applicable surplus lines laws and codesParticipate in projects and other activities, as requiredComply with all business defined policies and proceduresQualifications:Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and work experienceDemonstrated competency in the comprehension of insurance regulations and statutesWorking knowledge of commercial property/casualty coverage and services and/or insurance licensingProficient use of applicable technology (ConceptOne, ImageRight, Excel, SharePoint, OnBase, any other system required by state)Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing/effective customer service skillsAbility to work in a team environment as well as independentlyAbility to analyze and prioritize multiple responsibilitiesAbility to meet deadlines based on state tax due dates & filing datesDemonstrated application of critical thinking skillsCompensation Package:Competitive base compensationFlexible and hybrid work optionsHealth benefits & 401K with employer matchEmployer paid continuing education courses and industry designationsMany opportunities for career advancementAbout Our Company:H.W.
