LOCATION: Indianapolis, IN Our client is seeking immediate assistance in identifying a candidate for a Project Engineer direct hire position in Indianapolis, IN. Duties:
- Design electrical control panels and associated systems for water and wastewater treatment facilities
- Develop and modify schematics using AutoCAD Electrical (SolidWorks Electrical experience acceptable)
- Access and review PLC programs to make minor edits and interpret existing code (no full-scale programming required)
- Support a mix of projects, including approximately 80% new builds and 20% retrofit/upgrade work
- Collaborate with architectural and engineering firms, municipalities, and utility providers on project execution
- Serve as a subcontractor partner on projects.
- Manage projects from concept through completion, including budgeting, document review, equipment testing, and commissioning
- Coordinate with customers, vendors, and contractors to ensure project timelines and deliverables are met
- Oversee project timelines ranging from 4 weeks to 6 months, depending on scope and complexity
Required Skills (Must have):
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical Engineering preferred); Associate's degree considered with relevant experience and technical expertise
- 5-7+ years of experience in a similar role within an OEM, systems integrator, or custom equipment environment
- Working knowledge of PLC programming, including the ability to review and interpret existing code
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical or similar electrical design software
- Demonstrated experience designing industrial control panels
- Familiarity with UL 508A standards; experience working with or supporting a UL 508A-certified panel shop (MTR involvement preferred)
- Ability and willingness to travel to customer sites as needed
- Valid driver's license
