Surgical Technician-NCA

The Surgical Technician-NCA assists members of the healthcare team in delivering patient care during surgical procedures. The major focus of this position is on preparing and handling instrumentation and surgical equipment, as well as assisting the surgeon during the surgical procedure. This role requires administering care and utilizing equipment applications based on the patient's age and needs. The Surgical Technician must understand specific procedures and specialties. This individual must effectively prioritize and problem-solve in the changing environment of the surgical setting. The Technician must recognize and respond quickly during urgent or emergency situations. Basic knowledge of medical terminology, the metric system, and aseptic technique is essential for all interactions with patients and families. Responsibilities include: Displaying aseptic technique during surgical duties to ensure positive patient outcomes. Demonstrating responsibility for the care, preparation, handling, and maintenance of surgical instrumentation. Consistently performing sponge, sharps, and instrument counts according to policy and procedure. Demonstrating knowledge and adherence to professional standards of practice.
