Production Assembly Operator

Employer: JIREH METAL PRODUCTS | Location: Grandville, MI Reporting Line: Operations Manager Cross-Functional Partners: Production, Quality, Material Handling, Shipping/Receiving Is this you? What you’ll do Assembly & Production Assemble components and products per documented requirements and production needs. Operate hand tools, power tools, and production machinery safely and correctly. Coordinate with your team and shift priorities to meet output goals. Quality & Issue Escalation Inspect finished products for conformance to specifications. Perform basic troubleshooting; promptly report defects, equipment concerns, and production issues. Follow written and verbal instructions to maintain consistent quality. Safety & Work Area Organization Comply with all safety protocols, company policies, and procedures. Keep the work area clean, safe, and organized throughout the shift. Department Support Support boxing, secondary operations, packaging, and related manufacturing tasks as needed. Cross-train in multiple value-added activities while maintaining assembly as the primary focus. Qualifications Assembly, manufacturing, or general labor experience preferred; not required. Experience with basic hand and power tools. Able to follow written and verbal directions with strong attention to detail. High school diploma or equivalent required. Physical demands Standing for extended periods; frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive actions. Lift and move up to 25 pounds independently. Use required tools and production equipment safely throughout the day. Travel & language Minimal travel required. Must be able to read and write in English. Personal protective equipment (PPE) Safety glasses and hearing protection required in all manufacturing areas. Additional PPE must be worn as required by the task or area. Work environment Manufacturing environment with continuous noise and moving equipment. Exposure to dust, grease, moisture, and temperature variation. Potential exposure to manufacturing hazards; strict safety adherence required. Intermittent outdoor weather exposure. Key performance indicators (KPIs) Safe, correct use of hand tools, power tools, and required production equipment. Accuracy to work instructions, blueprints, schematics, and product specifications. Quality of output and timely escalation of defects or production issues. Meeting production requirements while maintaining safety and quality. Work area cleanliness and organization. Dependability, teamwork, and responsiveness to changing priorities. Effective support of boxing, secondary operations, packaging, and other assigned tasks.
