Cardiac Nursing Clinical Nurse

This is a Day 4x8-Hour shift from 07:00 AM to 03:30 PM, with a potential on-call requirement on rotating weekends.

The Cardiac Nursing Clinical Nurse will deliver high-quality care to patients and families through the nursing process while collaborating with physicians and other members of the cardiac clinical team.

Responsibilities:

• Provide excellent patient care by anticipating the needs of patients, families, and the clinical team.
• Develop advanced knowledge of cardiac anatomy and physiology related to cardio-thoracic surgery, diagnostic cardiac catheterization, interventional procedures, electrophysiology studies, ablations, and pacemaker/defibrillator insertions.
• Conduct pre-procedure assessments for outpatients in the Cath Lab and serve in the circulating role in the CVOR.
• Share on-call responsibilities with other Nurse Clinicians in the department.
• Assist in other clinical areas within the Heart Center and engage in research, database maintenance, teaching, program development, and other administrative functions to support the center's mission and vision.
• Perform additional duties as required.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred.
• Current Registered Nurse licensure required.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Basic and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (BLS & ACLS) certifications required.
• Operating Room (OR) nursing experience is required.
• A minimum of two (2) years of pediatric cardiovascular nursing experience is preferred.
• Proficiency in cardiac invasive procedures and experience with MS Office and Epic EMR preferred.
