Animal Care Technician

- Location: Windham, ME
- Seeking applicants that have some experience with animals; no professional experience required.
- Requires the ability to walk and stand for the shift, lift 30+ lbs, bend over, push cart, and climb a ladder.

Job Description:

-Provided daily care in laboratory and barn settings, including feeding, watering, cage cleaning, and cage wash operations.

-Assisted with animal husbandry and cross-trained in ascites production procedures such as immunizations, ascites collection, inventory management, and computerized recordkeeping.

-Maintained strict compliance with animal welfare regulations and followed detailed technical documentation and production protocols.

-Worked full-time in a fast-paced environment requiring strong attention to detail, reliability, and adherence to safety and background screening requirements.

Job Requirements:
-High school diploma or equivalent required
-Prior animal or farm experience preferred, but not mandatory
-Able to follow technical documents and work instructions while working independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
-Skilled in basic computer use and data entry
-Handling repetitive physical tasks involving animal care equipment and tools.
-Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs, walking and standing for entire shift, kneeling, carrying animal feed, and working in varying weather conditions.
** Must complete a background check and drug screen prior to starting work.
** Must have reliable transportation
** Not eligible for this position if you have contact with rodents or rabbits.
