Registered Nurse (RN) - Acute Care ICU

Unit Information
- Number of Beds: 30
- Staffing: 40+ staff members
- Patient Ratios:
- SD/ICU: 2-4:1
- Med-Surg: 5-6:1
- 2-3 Patient Care Technicians (PCT) on the floor as needed
General Responsibilities
As an RN in the Acute Care Unit, you will take part in a collaborative, team-based care model where you will:
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in a fast-paced environment.
- Conduct routine assessments and monitor patient status.
- Administer medications, perform procedures, and manage treatment plans.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Qualifications
- Required Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) completed prior to the end of orientation for RNs
- PCT/NAs must have BLS certification
- Preferred Experience:
- Prior experience in ICU/Stepdown units
- Minimum of 1 year of medical-surgical nursing experience is preferred

Work Environment
You will be working in a supportive unit that utilizes a team-based care model, engaging daily in case discussions with various healthcare professionals including physicians, nurses, case management, and therapy providers to ensure coordinated care and optimal discharge planning.
Dress Code
- Nurses: Navy blue scrubs
- NAs: Galaxy/Royal blue scrubs
Schedule
A weekend rotation is required, with three scheduled shifts on Monday and Friday over a six-week period. Holidays are assigned according to the staffing matrix.
