Substitute Teacher (EC & Grades)

We seek an individual: Who nurtures and guides young children through the philosophy of Waldorf education: love and warmth Who is familiar with experiential pedagogy Who strives to deepen their understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion Who is interested in collaborating with colleagues to create an environment of joy and belonging for children and their families Who is flexible, adaptable, and communicative Required Credentials: Must be 18 years or older At least one year of experience working with early childhood (ages 1 to 6) or grade school (ages 7 - 14) children Compliance with regulations outlined in the Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF) and active MERIT account or willingness to create one Commitment to equity; anti‑racist, gender‑inclusive environments; and evaluation of systemic privilege and oppression with openness to personal and institutional growth Desired Skills and Experience: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience Familiarity with Waldorf Education or openness to learn Location: On campus at Bright Water Waldorf School, 1414 S Weller Street, Seattle, WA 98144 Hours: Part Time; Variable hours from Monday - Friday during the hours of 8:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m., depending upon shift needs Compensation: $20.76 - $35.00/hour, depending upon experience Benefits: Sick Leave – 1 hour for every 30 hours worked Statement of Non-Discrimination Bright Water Waldorf School is an equal opportunity employer.
