Job Title: Engagement Center Scheduling Representative

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour (based on experience)

Work Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday. Current hours are approximately 9:00 AM-5:30 PM, with potential scheduling flexibility and growth opportunities over time. Occasional Saturday coverage may be required.

Job Description:

The Engagement Center Scheduling Representative serves as a key point of contact for patients seeking healthcare services. This position is responsible for scheduling appointments, gathering and updating patient information, assisting with pre-registration requirements, and ensuring a positive experience throughout the scheduling process.

The ideal candidate is an excellent communicator who enjoys helping people, can effectively manage high call volumes, and thrives in a customer-service-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Respond to incoming calls and place outbound calls to coordinate patient appointments and healthcare services.
• Accurately collect and update demographic, insurance, and registration information.
• Guide patients through scheduling requirements and provide appointment-related instructions.
• Route messages, documentation, and requests to the appropriate departments when necessary.
• Verify information to ensure appointments are scheduled correctly and efficiently.
• Maintain scheduling work queues, voicemail follow-up, and other administrative tasks in a timely manner.
• Answer patient questions and direct individuals to appropriate resources when additional assistance is needed.
• Deliver a professional, service-oriented experience with every patient interaction.
• Support departmental productivity, quality, and service-level goals.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with all HIPAA and privacy requirements.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year of experience in a healthcare, medical office, patient access, call center, or customer service environment required.
• Familiarity with medical terminology and healthcare scheduling processes is highly desirable.
• Understanding of health insurance concepts and patient registration procedures preferred.
• Strong verbal communication, active listening, and problem-solving skills.
• Comfortable working with multiple computer systems and navigating healthcare applications.
• Ability to multitask while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
• Strong command of the English language, both verbal and written.
• Bilingual Spanish skills are a plus.
