Licensed Mental Health Therapist - Outpatient Behavioral Health

Columbia Mental Health in Washington, DC seeks a Licensed Mental Health Therapist to provide high-quality, evidence-based care within our Healthcare & Medical Services department. You’ll conduct assessments, develop individualized treatment plans, and deliver individual, group, and family therapy for diverse mental health conditions. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, participate in case conferences, and maintain accurate clinical documentation. Provide individual, group, and/or family psychotherapy using evidence-based and trauma-informed treatment modalities. Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments, diagnostic evaluations, and ongoing risk and safety assessments. Formulate diagnoses and treatment plans in alignment with DSM-5 and organizational standards. Collaborate with psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, and other team members to deliver holistic, coordinated patient care. Maintain accurate, timely, and ethically sound clinical documentation in the electronic health record (EHR). Monitor patient progress, adjust treatment plans as clinically indicated, and support relapse prevention and recovery goals. Coordinate care and communicate with external providers, community resources, and family/support systems when appropriate and with consent. Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, case consultations, and quality improvement initiatives. Engage in ongoing professional development, supervision/consultation, and training to enhance clinical skills. Uphold all ethical, legal, and regulatory requirements related to clinical practice, privacy, and professional standards.
