Manager I

This position is located at the DMV Headquarters in Sacramento.

Under the direction of a Manager III, DMV, the Manager I, DMV, plans, organizes, and directs activities, managing different priorities and employee needs. Supervises Motor Vehicle Representatives and their various activities, which include the processing and maintenance of requester applications, agreements, and addendums. Oversees and maintains production; recommends and establishes procedures for compliance with policies and statutes. Maintains staff attendance records; resolves personnel issues; compiles and analyzes various statistical reports and takes appropriate action. Prioritizes multiple assignments for meeting all deadlines. Handles quality controls and resolves problems of the most complex work assignments. Hires and trains new staff, which includes coaching and mentoring subordinates. Previous Driver License program knowledge is desirable.

Working Conditions


The incumbent works 40 hours per week during regular business hours of operations in an office setting, with artificial lighting and temperature control. Subject to being called in 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, due to emergency law enforcement requests.
