The Will Group is hiring a Senior Electrical Distribution Designer to join our Power Division and lead some of our most challenging electric distribution design work. This is a senior technical position for someone who understands utility distribution beyond the design software—someone who understands field conditions, constructability, utility standards, and what it takes to get a project from concept to construction. Why This Role Stands Out Lead overhead and underground distribution designs typically ranging from 4 kV to 34 kV. Design That Gets Built Take ownership from field information and concept development through construction-ready design packages. Major Utility Exposure Support projects for Commonwealth Edison (ComEd) and other Exelon operating companies. Become a go-to resource for complex design challenges and help shape TWG's standards and best practices. Help elevate Designers, Junior Designers, Engineering Associates, and Project Engineers. Mostly Remote Work primarily remotely with occasional office and job site responsibilities in the Shorewood, IL area. We're looking for deep utility distribution expertise—not a license. What We’re Looking For Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field 10+ years of utility distribution, power delivery, or utility consulting experience Strong understanding of utility standards and construction practices Experience with GIS, work management, and utility design platforms Ability to independently solve complex technical problems Strong communication and client coordination skills ComEd experience is highly valued, as is experience with DER interconnections, grid modernization, smart grid, EV infrastructure, urban underground systems, and other complex utility programs. What We Offer $110,000–$130,000 annually. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
