Location: Luma Cafe and Eatery, 24 Buffalo Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY 14303
Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM, weekends required
Pay $16.00-$18.00/hour (plus tips)
About the RoleAt Luma, breakfast isn’t just a meal—it’s an experience. Our Breakfast Cook plays a key role in bringing that experience to life each morning, crafting fresh, well-presented dishes for both café service and catering. This role demands care, consistency, and a passion for quality.
Key ResponsibilitiesFood Preparation & Execution
- Prepare breakfast and brunch items with consistency, care, and attention to detail
- Execute hot and cold dishes that meet Luma’s presentation and flavor standards
- Handle guest modifications professionally
- Maintain consistent portioning, flavor, and plating
Kitchen Flow & Readiness
- Set up a clean, organized, and fully stocked station before service
- Work efficiently during peak hours while maintaining quality
- Assist with daily prep: produce, proteins, sauces, and garnishes
- Leave your station clean, reset, and ready for the next shift
Product Awareness & Waste Control
- Prep based on expected volume and minimize waste
- Properly store, label, and rotate items
- Communicate low inventory or gaps proactively
Cleanliness & Standards
- Keep the kitchen clean and organized
- Follow all food safety and health code standards
- Use equipment and cleaning materials safely
- Report issues promptly
- Guest-Focused: Every plate contributes to the experience. Speed matters, but quality defines us.
- Team Player: Collaborate with front and back of house, staying aligned during service.
- Detail-Oriented: Pride in clean, consistent execution.
- Reliable: Arrive prepared, on time, ready to contribute.
- Ownership: Manage your station, anticipate needs, and step in proactively.
- 1–2 years of cooking experience preferred, not required
- Breakfast or brunch experience a plus
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Strong attention to detail and organization
- Ability to stand and move for extended periods
- Frequent bending, lifting, and reaching
- Lift up to 25 lbs regularly and up to 50 lbs occasionally
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced kitchen
