LPN Pregnant and Parenting Women Program

LPN PositionThe Ness Center is looking for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our specialized Pregnant and Parenting Women (PPW) Program.PPW is different from traditional behavioral health treatment. Mothers receiving treatment can have their children, from infants through age 11, stay with them during treatment. This allows women to work on their recovery without being separated from their children and gives them the opportunity to build healthier, more stable futures for their families.As an LPN in PPW, you will provide nursing care and medication management to mothers while helping create a safe, supportive, and trauma-informed environment for the entire family. You will work closely with providers, therapists, ADL Specialists, and other members of the treatment team.This is an opportunity to use your nursing skills in a setting where the care you provide reaches beyond the patient; it can positively impact an entire family.What You'll DoAdminister medications and monitor patients for therapeutic response and adverse reactionsObtain vital signs and monitor changes in patient condition, behavior, or functioningAssist with nursing care, procedures, treatments, and diagnostic testing within your scope of practiceParticipate in interdisciplinary treatment planning and communicate clinical observations to the treatment teamAccurately document medications, PRN assessments, orders, and patient responsesMaintain medication security and complete required controlled substance countsProvide medication education and facilitate Nursing Education GroupsSupport patient observation, milieu management, and unit safetyWork alongside Mental Health Technicians and other team members during periods of increased acuityAssist with the safety and supervision of infants and children in the program as neededMaintain professional boundaries while providing compassionate, trauma-informed careWhat We're Looking ForWe are looking for an LPN who is calm under pressure, can compassionately provide boundaries to residents while maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment, understands the importance of dependability, and genuinely interested in helping people. Behavioral health nursing requires strong clinical judgment, teamwork, flexibility, and the ability to remain composed when situations become challenging.Required:Graduate of an accredited nursing programCurrent Louisiana LPN licenseAt least one year of LPN experienceCurrent American Heart Association BLS certification.
