Bar Back

Barback PositionFishers Event Center has an excellent and immediate opening for a part-time Bar Back. This position is responsible for the overall stocking, replenishing, cleaning, maintenance, and preparation of beverages of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including inventory.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesResponsible for completing tasks related to stocking, replenishing, cleaning, maintenance, and preparation of beverages under the guidance of the Bartender.Maintains and stocks adequate supplies of bar items such as glasses, cups, napkins, drink supplies, condiments, etc.Washes glasses and other serving equipment at bars.Stocks refrigerating units with wines, beer, replaces beer kegs, etc.Replenishes ice at bar.Cleans and polishes bar, counters, shelves, equipment, bar stools, etc.Prepares food items needed in the preparation of drinks.Handles trash pickup and disposal at bar and bar service areas.Maintains personal health and sanitation standards (wash hands when using restroom, etc.)Reviews work procedures and operational problems to determine ways to improve service, performance, and/or safety.Steps in to assist other Food & Beverage areas as needed.Other duties as assigned.QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent.1-2 years of experience in food service and/or working in a bar environment preferred.Skills and AbilitiesKnowledge of principles and processes for providing guest and personal services; this includes guest needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of guest satisfaction.Good oral communication skills.Professionalism in handling all matters.Ability to understand orders and understand information/ideas presented in writing.Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively.Work LocationFishers Event CenterPhysical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
