Team Captain Apparel The Team Captain Apparel leads the apparel department, coaching teammates, driving sales, and ensuring athletes feel confident in their selections. Job Duties & Responsibilities Deliver outstanding athlete experiences by anticipating needs and providing clear, accurate, and knowledgeable product information. Uphold merchandising and presentation standards, following floor sets, signage, price changes, inventory presentation, and replenishment standards. Promote and lead company programs such as customer loyalty, warranty sales, and private label credit card enrollment. Collaborate with the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager to develop and execute 30‑60‑90 day plans supporting business priorities, staffing, merchandising, and operational initiatives. Communicate departmental goals, assign workload, and monitor progress, adjusting plans to meet athlete traffic demands and financial targets. Build and lead a strong team: source, interview, hire, onboard, and retain direct reports; provide coaching, feedback, development, recognition, and motivation throughout their lifecycle. Manage performance, conduct annual reviews, handle promotions, and make termination recommendations when necessary. Enforce safety, loss‑prevention, and standard operating procedures, holding teammates accountable for compliance. Qualifications High School Diploma or Equivalent. 1–3 years of experience, with prior retail/customer‑facing experience required. Previous people‑leadership experience preferred.
