Front Office Patient Financial Service Representative – Sleep Clinic We're seeking a Front Office Patient Financial Service Representative to be the welcoming face of our Sleep Clinic while playing a crucial role in our patients' care journey. In this dynamic position, you'll coordinate seamless patient flow by managing appointments, registrations, and insurance verifications while ensuring every patient receives exceptional service from their first phone call through check‑in. You'll serve as a financial advocate for our patients, providing clear guidance on insurance coverage, collecting patient liability, and helping them navigate the complexities of healthcare financing. Position Summary This position conducts registration, point‑of‑service collections, and obtains authorizations and forms needed to maximize reimbursement. It documents all facets of the registration process and meets accuracy goals as determined by management. The role collects payments and meets regular collection targets, resolves customer issues, provides excellent customer service, and performs financial counseling when appropriate. Core Functions Performs pre‑registration/registration processes, verifies eligibility and obtains authorizations, submits notifications and verifies authorizations for services. Verifies patient’s demographics and accurately inputs this information into the A/D/T system, including documenting the account thoroughly to maximize reimbursement and minimize denials/penalties from payors. Verifies and understands insurance benefits, collects patient responsibility based on estimates at the time of service or during the pre‑registration process. May make collection attempts at the bedside. Consistently meets monthly individual collection target as determined by management. May provide financial counseling to patients and their families, explain company financial policies, and provide information on available resources. Assists patients with Medicaid applications and completes all financial assistance programs. Acts as a liaison between patients, the billing department, vendors, physician offices, and payors to enhance account receivables performance and meet payment collection goals, resolve outstanding issues, and maximize service excellence. Communicates with physicians, clinical and hospital staff, nursing and Health Information Management Services to resolve outstanding issues and meet the patient’s needs in financial services. Consistently meets monthly individual productivity goals, completes daily assignments, keeps the electronic productivity log up to date, and inputs information accurately. Provides a variety of patient services and financial services tasks, which may include transporting patients, precepting new hires, recapping daily deposits, posting daily deposits, or other work assignments of the Patient Financial Services team. Works independently under regular supervision and follows structured work routines in a fast‑paced, multi‑task environment with high volume and immediacy, making independent decisions and sound judgments. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma/GED or equivalent. Knowledge of patient financial services, financial or collecting services, or insurance industry experience, typically acquired over one or more years. Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously with minimal supervision and to work independently. Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills. Proficiency with common office software: word processing, spreadsheet, and database software. Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card and Arizona Criminal History Affidavit requirements for certain locations (where applicable). Preferred Qualifications Work experience with the company’s systems and processes. Previous cash collections experience. Additional related education and/or experience.
