Applies project management methodology. Develops expertise in several business areas and their integration points to other departments or systems. Contributes to organization success by responding to requests, helping others accomplish required results. A member of a 24/7/365 global department and availability of on-call and after-hours support. Essential Job Functions Identifies business systems solution requirements by interviewing clients; analyzing work processes and operations; establishing solution objectives; evaluating information systems functionality to identify gaps; measuring the solution impact to business operations Facilitates and occasionally leads or champions the effort to document business requirements with sign-off by business stakeholders, recommends business process redesign where applicable Designs high quality business systems solutions by identifying and evaluating options; preparing functional specifications and configuring the system; resolving solution issues; serving as a bridge between the business and the project team; creating and delivering related user documentation and end‑user training Verifies business systems solutions by creating test plans and scripts; conducting unit and integration testing in conjunction with customers using QA processes Maintains delivered solutions by supporting configuration for existing applications; implementing improvements Maintains business systems standards by applying project management methods, tools and processes as best practice frameworks Participates in system patches and upgrades, and other support activities as needed Leads technical projects and may supervise staff Responsible for other reasonable, related duties assigned Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Full working knowledge of job responsibilities, procedures and best practices Ability to be considered a resource for others, helping to clarify problems, adapting and/or modifying established approaches as needed Ability to identify and select appropriate tools, data, and analysis techniques to diagnose problems and develop solutions Ability to participate in development of improvements and help implement change Actively seeks help in gathering resources, soliciting input, and using a variety of techniques to reach a solution Ability to lead groups through the process of problem solving, soliciting ideas and opinions to form recommendations or action plans, while working to identify and solve issues within the group Ability to translate technical or procedural information into specifications or action plans and to convey technical or complex information to others in non‑technical terms Ability to assist in formulating recommendations on difficult problems, and to make recommendations for solving problems of moderate complexity Ability to establish and lead project timelines or short‑term goals Ability to motivate others towards completion of tasks and assignments Ability to seek opportunities and set some goals for own development Ability to often prioritize own work Anticipates consequences of actions, potential problems, or opportunities for change Understands and follows standard operating procedures Physical Abilities The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items, such as papers, books, or small parts; or driving an automobile. Work Schedule and Conditions Equipment used includes a PC workstation running on a LAN in a Microsoft Windows environment, calculator, phone, and other general office equipment Interface with internal and external contacts as needed to carry out the functions of the position Work is performed in a climate‑controlled office with minimal exposure to safety hazards Required to work on‑call and after hours as needed on a rotating schedule Travel within LSC campuses/locations may be required May regularly travel to different LSC locations May be fully reassigned to other LSC locations if necessary May need to work weekends and outside of core business hours if necessary Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree and at least 5 years of experience with IT/application support and 4 years of experience with data analysis, or an equivalent combination of education and experience Experience with PeopleSoft 9.x or greater Experience with PeopleTools 8.5x or greater ITIL Foundation Certification or industry recognized equivalent experience Certified Associate Business Analyst (CABA) or industry recognized equivalent experience Preferred Qualifications Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) End‑user training experience End‑user support experience Salary Hiring salary range is: $80,523 - $92,601 Location 20515 SH 249 (SH 249 and Louetta Road) Houston, Texas 77070‑2607 EEO Statement Lone Star College is an EEO Employer.
