Project/Role:

• 2-year project – retire 6 legacy HR systems and migrating to OC
• Found a gap that they don’t have the build in house to manage the cloud and integration
• PeopleSoft, ADP, SuccessFactors = bringing together in one system for the first time

Experience:

• Oracle certified OCI (Oracle Cloud Infrastructure) and OCI (Oracle Integration Cloud) – doesn’t have to have specific experience w/that platform more so certification
• Understands OCI, strategic and builder/doer in the system (IBM is doing heavy lifting but wants the internal resource to take over)
• Understanding backend infrastructure and how environment overlap
• Doesn’t shy away from questioning what’s already in place, and explaining to business partners – identify, understand, and translate

Job description:

We are seeking a hands-on Oracle Cloud (OCI) Solutions Architect to partner with our system integrator and take ownership of our Oracle cloud ecosystem. This role will play a critical part in designing, validating, and ultimately owning our OCI environment supporting Oracle Fusion applications (HCM, EPM, ERP) and Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC).

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Partner with our implementation partner to review and validate OCI architecture and design decisions.
• Take hands-on responsibility for OCI environment configuration, including compute, networking, IAM, and connectivity.
• Co-Lead architecture and implementation of integrations using Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC) for HR and local payroll needs.
• Establish standards and best practices across OCI and Oracle Fusion (HCM, EPM, FAH, FDI).
• Ensure solutions are scalable, secure, and operationally sustainable.
• Drive transition from implementation to internal ownership, including documentation and knowledge transfer.
• Identify risks, gaps, and optimization opportunities in current architecture.
• Serve as the internal subject matter expert for OCI and Oracle integrations.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• 8+ years of experience in cloud architecture or engineering, with hands-on OCI experience.
• Proven experience with 1) Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) compute, networking, IAM, compartments, 2) Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC), and 3) Oracle Fusion applications (HCM and/or EPM strongly preferred).
• Experience working alongside large system integrators (e.g., IBM, Accenture).
• Ability to operate as both architect and hands-on builder.
• Experience supporting or building integrations for HR/payroll systems.
• Strong understanding of cloud security, identity, and networking concepts.
• Ability to troubleshoot technical problems and issues.
• Experience and comfort solving problems in an ambiguous environment where there is constant change.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

• Experience with Oracle Cloud applications and tools.
• Experience transitioning environments from implementation to steady-state operations.

EDUCATION/Certifications:

• OCI certification (Associate or Professional) required
• BA or BS degree Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related fields.
