Job Overview

H&R Block is seeking customer-focused individuals to join our team as Seasonal Tax Professionals for the upcoming tax season. This is a client-facing position responsible for preparing accurate tax returns, supporting clients through the tax preparation process, and delivering exceptional service.

As a Seasonal Tax Professional, you will work directly with clients to gather tax information, prepare and review tax returns, and provide guidance on available products and services. Both experienced tax preparers and individuals with transferable customer service, financial, or analytical skills are encouraged to apply.

Location

Seasonal Tax Professional opportunities are available throughout the Asheville District Market. Applicants will have the opportunity to discuss preferred work locations during the hiring process.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate individual tax returns in compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws.
• Interview clients to gather tax information and identify eligible deductions and credits.
• Review tax documents for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
• Provide professional, personalized service and build strong client relationships.
• Educate clients on available products and services that support their financial needs.
• Maintain accurate client records and documentation.
• Stay current on tax law changes, policies, and procedures.
• Collaborate with office team members to support client and business needs.
• Respond to client inquiries in a timely and professional manner.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Prior tax preparation experience is preferred but not required.
• Ability to complete required onboarding, licensing, and certification requirements.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn new technology platforms.
• Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and professionalism.
• Strong problem-solving and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
