THE BERRIEN COUNTY SCHOOL SYSTEM IS CURRENTLY ADVERTISING FOR THE FOLLOWING VACANCY: BUS DRIVER – Full‑time position which qualifies for benefits. High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Valid Georgia Commercial Driver’s License Class B required, S & P endorsements on license preferred. Must submit to drug and alcohol testing and criminal background check. Willing to participate in safety training for students in a transportation setting. Demonstrate ability to work with students and knowledge of student behavior management. Attendance and punctuality is crucial. Physical demands: must be able to sit the majority of the day; stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl occasionally; must be able to lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds. Works 180 days a year . All positions are considered FT and are eligible for benefits but actual work time averages 25 hours a week depending on route distance. All bus drivers also have the opportunity to work additional paying positions driving field trips, extracurricular and sporting activities, and after‑school and summer student programs. Base pay of 180 days at average of 25 hours a week is $12,435.27 to $14,884.73 a year not including field trips, etc. Substitute BUS DRIVER – This position works on an as‑needed basis but could possibly become a full‑time position.
