Registered Nurse ICU

Nights, 3x12-Hour shifts (19:00 - 07:30)

Assignment Details

15-week contract with every other weekend required. Possible float to DOU, Tele, or Med Tele.

Requirements

• 3 years of experience in ICU/CCU
• ACLS certification
• BLS certification
• CPI certification
• MAB or VIP certification
• NIHSS certification
• Experience with FloTrac/Vigileo monitoring
• Ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias
• Experience with multi-system organ failure
• Ability to obtain 12 lead EKG
• IV insulin protocols knowledge
• Experience with chronic/acute renal failure
• Accessing ports and arterial line management
• Blood product administration
• Central line and PICC line management
• Starting IVs
• Continuous IV paralytics/neuromuscular blockade experience
• Continuous IV sedation experience
• Emergency medications administration
• Procedural sedation administration
• Titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips
• CVA/acute stroke management
• Familiarity with hypothermia protocol/Arctic Sun
• Assistance with BiPAP and CPAP management
• High flow nasal cannula (HFNC) experience
• ABG interpretation
• Suctioning (ETT, NT)
• Ventilator management
• Infection prevention and isolation precautions
• Phlebotomy skills
• Management of surgical wounds with drains and wound vac
• Assistance with chest tube insertion/removal
• Care of ventilated patients

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in the ICU setting
• Monitor and assess patient condition and vital signs
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team for optimal patient outcomes
• Educate patients and families regarding care plans and procedures
• Adhere to safety and infection control protocols

Compliance / Notes

RTO must be submitted at the time of application. No RTO is allowed during the first two weeks of the assignment. A maximum of 3 days RTO is permitted, and candidates must be willing to work holidays.
