Job Description

The Mobility LPN reports to the Divisional Director of Clinical Excellence. Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, the Mobility LPN performs multi-skilled activities to support patient mobility, including, but not limited to, ambulation, transfers to/from chair, assisting patients in practicing exercises or functional activities, and total lifts to chair using lift equipment to achieve desired outcomes.  The LPN will be responsible for updating the highest level of mobility performed each shift for assigned patients, as well as updating the mobility documentation, such as but not limited to, AM-PAC scores.

 

 

Requirements (Education, Work Experience, Licensure, Registry &/or Certifications) •        Graduate of a Practical Nurse Program and successful completion of the LPN NCLEX with a minimum of one year of patient care work experience in a health care facility•        Current Basic Life Support (BLS) requiredPhysical Requirements Ability to perform job functions while standing. (Infrequent) Ability to exert up to 50 lbs. of force. (Frequent) Examples include: To transfer a 100 lb. patient that can not assist in the transfer requires 50 lbs. of force. For every 100 additional pounds, assistance will be required from another healthcare worker. 20 lbs. of force is needed to push a 400 lb. patient in a wheelchair on carpet. 25 lbs. of force is required to push a stretcher with a patient with one hand. Ability to maintain 20/40 vision, corrected, in one eye or with both eyes. (Continuous) Ability to see and recognize objects close at hand or at a distance. (Continuous) Ability to match or discriminate between colors. (Continuous) Ability to determine distance/relationship between objects; depth perception. (Continuous) Good peripheral vision capabilities. (Continuous) Ability to maintain hearing acuity, with correction. Additional Job Description

Graduate from an accredited Practical Nurse program with six months of patient care experience required. Licensed as an LPN within the state of South Carolina or a compact state. A current CPR card is required; either an American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers card or an American Red Cross Professional Rescuer card. Ability to demonstrate commitment to patient centered care philosophy as evidenced by effective communications skills, professional demeanor, and excellent interpersonal skills. Ability and motivation to articulate and support departmental philosophy of excellent guest relations. Must communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Must be computer literate. Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required
