Director of Asset Management - Debt

I’m partnering with a leading real estate investment platform to identify a senior Asset Management professional for an exceptional opportunity based in Dallas. This is a near director/MD-level role focused on special situations, with a strong emphasis on distressed and non-performing real estate credit.

The role is best suited for a hands-on operator who has deep experience working through complex asset-level challenges, includin g property workouts, restructurings, and REO asset management.

Qualifications

• 7–15+ years of experience in real estate asset management, special situations, or distressed credit
• Strong experience with property workouts, restructurings, and/or REO asset management
• Exposure to non-performing loans or complex real estate credit structures
• Track record of operating in fast-paced, transaction-driven environments
• Strong commercial judgment with a focus on recovery and value preservation
• Prior experience in debt funds, special situations platforms, loan servicers, or investment firms strongly preferred

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and actively oversee a portfolio of special situation assets, including non-performing loans and REO properties
• Lead and execute property-level workouts, restructurings, and resolution strategies
• Drive asset recovery and value maximization initiatives across distressed positions
• Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders on execution of workout and disposition strategies
• Monitor asset performance and proactively manage risk across the portfolio
• lSupport full lifecycle resolution from takeover through exit/disposition
