Travel NICU Respiratory Therapist - $2,050 per week

American Traveler is seeking a travel Registered Respiratory Therapist for a position in Santa Barbara, California. Job Details Specialty: Registered Respiratory Therapist Discipline: Allied Health Professional Start Date: 07/27/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview Shift: Nights, 3x12 hours Hours: 36 hrs per week Start Date: Jul 27, 2026 Length: 13 weeks Openings: 1 Responsibilities Advanced airway management including direct neonatal intubation, extubation, endotracheal suctioning, nasal and oral airway placement, tracheostomy care, and pulmonary hygiene. Manage patients with bronchopulmonary dysplasia, respiratory distress syndrome, cystic fibrosis, RSV, aspiration, pneumonia, transient tachypnea of the newborn, and near drowning. Ventilator management including BiPAP, CPAP, HFOV, IMV/SIMV, and mechanical ventilation weaning. Use Dräger VN500, Hamilton G5, and T1 ventilators, and 3100A oscillator. Administer inhaled medications such as Albuterol, Atrovent, Nitric Oxide (iNO), Inhaled Flolan, Pulmicort, Racemic Epinephrine, Lidocaine, Mucomyst, Spiriva, Terbutaline Sulfate, and inhaled steroids. Document in Epic EMR. Participate in neonatal transports and assist in high‑risk deliveries. Perform daily assessments, ABG interpretation, capillary and umbilical blood gas sampling, chest physiotherapy, bubble CPAP, and basic EKG. Qualifications Active RRT credential. CA State Respiratory Care Practitioner license (if applicable). Current BLS, PALS, and NRP certifications. Intubation certification with proven ability to intubate neonates. Minimum 5 years of experience as a Respiratory Care Practitioner. Experience in NICU, ER, Pediatric Critical Care, Pediatrics, and patient transports. Proficiency with Dräger VN500, Hamilton G5, T1 ventilators, and 3100A oscillator. Epic EMR experience. Provide 2 professional supervisor references within the past 2 years. Full 7‑year work history with all gaps explained. Additional Information First‑time travelers are welcome to apply.
