Discover your full potential – join us to advance your career while leaving a lasting legacy.Position Summary:Tetra Tech is seeking an Environmental Project Manager to support environmental, groundwater, water resources, remediation, and regulatory compliance projects throughout Texas. This position will be responsible for coordinating project activities from planning through completion, including client communication, field activities, subcontractor coordination, scheduling, regulatory interaction, technical documentation, and project deliverables.The successful candidate will have a strong technical background in geology, hydrogeology, environmental science, water resources, or a related field and will be comfortable managing multiple assignments in a consulting environment. This role will work closely with clients, regulatory agencies, field personnel, subcontractors, and multidisciplinary project teams to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements.Essential Job Functions:The following duties are considered essential to the role. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions:Manage and coordinate environmental, groundwater, water resources, remediation, and regulatory compliance projects.Serve as a primary point of contact for clients and coordinate communication among clients, regulatory agencies, subcontractors, field personnel, and internal project teams.Develop and manage project schedules, field activities, sampling events, drilling programs, documentation, and technical deliverables.Coordinate environmental investigations involving soil, groundwater, water quality, monitoring wells, public water systems, and other environmental media.Support projects involving Public Water Systems and coordinate with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality and other applicable regulatory agencies.Plan and oversee soil and groundwater sampling, environmental assessments, drilling activities, monitoring activities, and well installation or maintenance activities.Provide technical oversight during drilling and field investigations, including review and documentation of subsurface conditions, lithology, stratigraphy, and aquifer characteristics.Evaluate project activities for compliance with applicable environmental regulations, permits, plans, and client requirements.Support stormwater compliance activities, including SWPPP inspections and documentation.Prepare, review, and coordinate technical reports, regulatory correspondence, investigation findings, field documentation, and other project deliverables.Track project scope, schedules, budgets, milestones, and deliverables and communicate project status to clients and internal stakeholders.Coordinate and oversee subcontractors and field personnel to support safe and effective project execution.Identify project risks, field conditions, regulatory issues, and technical challenges and work collaboratively with project teams to develop appropriate solutions.Maintain organized and accurate project files, field records, technical documentation, and regulatory records.Support proposal preparation, scope development, cost estimates, and other business development activities as needed.Build and maintain productive relationships with clients, regulators, contractors, and internal project teams.Promote and maintain Tetra Tech’s commitment to health, safety, quality, and environmental responsibility.Required Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Hydrogeology, Environmental Engineering, Water Resources, or a related field.5+ years of progressively responsible experience in environmental consulting, geology, hydrogeology, environmental compliance, water resources, or a related field.Experience coordinating environmental projects, field activities, contractors, schedules, and technical deliverables.Working knowledge of environmental investigations, soil and groundwater sampling, drilling and well activities, and environmental compliance requirements.Experience preparing technical reports, field documentation, regulatory correspondence, or similar technical deliverables.Demonstrated ability to manage multiple assignments, priorities, schedules, and deadlines simultaneously.Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, regulatory agencies, contractors, field personnel, and technical staff.Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within multidisciplinary project teams.Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites as required.Preferred Qualifications:Master’s degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Science, Water Resources, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.Experience working with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality and Texas environmental regulatory programs.Experience with Public Water Systems, groundwater systems, water quality, water wells, and monitoring wells.Experience with environmental remediation, regulatory investigations, environmental assessments, and compliance evaluations.Experience performing or overseeing drilling, lithologic logging, stratigraphic interpretation, and groundwater investigations.Experience with SWPPP inspections and stormwater compliance.Texas Groundwater Public Water System Water Operator License or other applicable water/wastewater operator certification.Geoscientist-in-Training certification, Professional Geoscientist licensure, or progress toward professional licensure.HAZWOPER, H2S, SafeLand, or similar field safety training.Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills. Physical Requirements:Ability to perform work in both office and field environments.Ability to walk, stand, bend, climb, and navigate uneven or unimproved terrain during field activities.Ability to occasionally lift and carry field equipment, samples, or supplies weighing up to approximately 30–40 pounds.Ability to wear required personal protective equipment, including hard hats, safety glasses, safety footwear, high-visibility clothing, and other project-specific PPE.Ability to operate a motor vehicle and travel to project sites as required.Work Environment / Environmental Factors:Work will be performed in a combination of office, client, and field environments.Field assignments may involve exposure to outdoor weather conditions, including heat, cold, wind, dust, rain, and direct sunlight.Field activities may occur around drilling operations, construction equipment, industrial facilities, roadways, water systems, and active remediation or investigation sites.Position may require occasional early mornings, extended field days, overnight travel, or schedule adjustments based on project requirements.Appropriate training and personal protective equipment will be provided or required based on project and site conditions.Additional InformationThis position may require travel throughout Texas and surrounding areas depending on project needs.Candidates must be able to manage multiple concurrent projects while maintaining attention to safety, quality, schedule, budget, and client expectations.Opportunities may include increasing responsibility for project management, client management, technical leadership, proposal development, and business development.The successful candidate will work collaboratively with scientists, geologists, engineers, environmental professionals, field personnel, and project managers across Tetra Tech.
