What You'll Do: Administer and interpret psychometric tests as requested as part of treatment needs for specific diagnoses, treatment and psychological individual and group interventions. Administer, score and interpret individual psychological tests or test batteries for purposes of crisis intervention, neuropsychological issues, risk assessment, severe behavioral management cases, treatment, and programming. Participate in hearings as assigned and assessments for potential suicide. As a member of the interdisciplinary team, responsible for the development and implementation of mental health interventions (psychological, social and substance abuse) for a caseload of offenders/patients with mental illness. Conduct individual and group clinical interventions as prescribed on the individual mental health treatment plan using clinical intervention strategies within scope of practice. Provide mental health liaison services to an assigned caseload, including monitoring offender compliance with the mental health treatment plan. Complete detailed screens, mental health evaluations and crisis services within scope of practice. Serve as treatment team coordinator. Act as lead worker over lower-level psychological services staff and provide clinical supervision to psychology assistants and interns according to State Board rules within their training and competency. Write reports and documents to include documentation of all offender contacts, mental health liaison progress notes, discharge plans and miscellaneous forms and reports as needed. Complete psychosocial needs and treatment assessments as part of interdisciplinary treatment planning. Complete transfer and discharge summaries and pre-parole clinical risk assessments and treatment summaries. Consult with other institution staff regarding mental health caseload, inmate institutional adjustment and service needs. Participate in peer review as assigned. Attend meetings of psychology clinical case consultation. Attend and instruct in-service training sessions and workshops for professional development. Conduct expert-witness assessments as needed. Attend meetings. Conduct various institution and program audit functions. Starting pay is approximately $112,000 based on location.
