Role Overview We are seeking a Senior Management and Funding Consultant to lead strategic projects, drive growth, and deliver consulting services to local governments and utilities, with a focus on California and the Western U.S. This is a client‑facing leadership role requiring expertise in funding strategies, financial analysis, and infrastructure planning. Key Responsibilities Deliver funding, financial, organizational, and technology consulting services to public agencies and utilities, including cities, counties, special districts, and regional authorities. Lead elements of the North America Funding Program, including policy tracking and developing frameworks for matching capital needs to funding opportunities. Prepare and review complex quantitative models, business cases, and grant and loan applications. Mentor, guide, and manage junior staff. Manage client engagements, ensuring high‑quality, on‑time, and on‑budget delivery while navigating procurement requirements, public meeting processes, and interagency coordination. Build, maintain and grow client relationships; lead business development efforts (RFQs/RFPs, interviews). Represent Stantec as an industry thought leader at conferences, workshops, and public forums, including presentations to boards, councils and advisory committees. Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred). 15+ years of experience in consulting and/or public‑sector agencies with a strong focus on water resources, infrastructure planning, funding, and financial analysis. Demonstrated experience working directly with or within public agencies, including familiarity with public governance, budgeting, procurement, and stakeholder processes. Proven success in writing and leading complex grant applications; deep knowledge of federal and state funding programs (California and Western U.S. focus). Strong analytical skills; proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Word; experience with data tools (Power BI, GIS, SQL, Python, R) a plus. Excellent communication and presentation skills, including the ability to translate technical and financial concepts for non‑technical audiences, elected officials, and the public. Willingness to travel (up to 25% initially). Valid driver’s license required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part‑time roles will be pro‑rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
