Southview Design, LLC in Mendota Heights, MN, seeks 18 Grounds Maintenance Workers for temporary, full-time employment (10/01/2026 to 01/15/2027). Duties include raking, aerating, dethatching, performing general lawn maintenance, perennial cutbacks, leaf collection, backpack blowing, snow preparation of maintenance client properties by marking areas where walkways and driveways exist in 6 foot increments to designate pathways so that snow equipment does not destroy landscaping and vegetation, installation of property markers for snow removal using hammers, stakes, maps, and shovels, and other tasks related to fall cleanup/snow removal preparation, including using backpack blowers, rakes, shovels, and wheelbarrows and/or carts to remove piled up leaves and other debris from properties so they do not clog up or impede the machinery used for snow removal equipment.

May perform other job duties pursuant to 37-3011, Landscaping and Groundskeeping Workers.

35 hours/week. 8-hour shifts between 7:00 am and 4:00 pm. 5 days per week, Mon-Fri. May work evenings, weekends, holidays, as needed. Schedule (including workdays) may vary. May work more than the guaranteed hours. May work overtime. OT varies.

No formal education, training or experience required. On-the-job training will be provided. Must be able to lift 50 pounds.

A criminal background check and drug screen is required. The drug screening must be completed before beginning employment. Employees who have worked for Mariani Enterprises in the past 3 years are exempt from criminal background check and drug screening requirements.

$22.32/hr; O/T $33.48/hr. Workers will be paid no less than the wage listed. Employer may pay higher wage rates to workers based on seniority with employer and level of skill. Overtime hours may vary.

Effective January 1, 2024, per MN State Statute, an employee will earn one hour of paid sick and safe time for every 30 hours worked, up to at least 48 hours of accrued Earned Sick and Safe Time (ESST) per year, provided the employee works a minimum of 80 hours in a calendar year.

The H-2B Temporary Grounds Maintenance Workers will perform job duties at 2383 Pilot Knob Road, Mendota Heights, MN 55120 and at multiple worksites within the area of intended employment, including the following counties: Anoka, Carver, Dakota, Hennepin, Le Sueur, Ramsey, Scott, Washington, Wright, and Rice.

Employer will provide daily transportation from 2383 Pilot Knob Road, Mendota Heights, MN 55120 to and from worksites, or employee may report directly to the worksite on their own.

Employer assurances pursuant to 20 CFR 655.20:

• Single work week used in computing wages due.

• Wages paid weekly.

• Work tools, supplies & equipment provided without cost to employee.

• Workers who are not able to return to their residence within the workday have the option of employer-provided housing for $600-800 per month, and if elected, employer will deduct costs from worker's paycheck. Workers also have the option of securing their own lodging.

• Employer facilitates deductions requested by employee for available health benefits. Employer will make all deductions from the worker's paycheck required by law and any non-legally required payroll deductions permitted under the law and requested by Employee.

• Upon or before 50% completion of work contract, employer will reimburse the worker for transportation & subsistence from place of recruitment to place of work within five days of receiving the expense receipts. Employer will issue reimbursement within the first workweek when required to meet FLSA minimum wage obligations. Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, if the worker has no immediately subsequent H-2B employment, the employer will provide or pay for worker's reasonable costs of return transportation & subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical & reasonable common carrier for the distances involved. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of at least $16.78 per day during travel to a maximum of $68.00 per day with receipts.

• Employer will reimburse worker in the first work week for all visa, visa processing, border crossing & related fees, incl. those mandated by the government (excluding passport fees).

• The employer guarantees to offer work for hours equal to at least three-fourths of the workdays in each 12-week period of the total employment period.
