MEP Assistant Project ManagerLocation: Vernon, TXJob OverviewThe MEP Assistant Project Manager supports the planning, coordination, and execution of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems on construction projects. This role works closely with the MEP Project Manager, engineers, subcontractors, and field teams to ensure MEP activities are completed on schedule, meet quality standards, and comply with project specifications and safety requirements.The MEP APM assists with documentation, scheduling, procurement, coordination, and field support. This position is ideal for someone building their career in MEP construction management and looking to gain experience with complex systems and fast-paced project environments.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist in reviewing drawings, specifications, and submittals to understand MEP scope and requirementsSupport development and maintenance of MEP schedules and look-ahead plansCoordinate with architects, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure accurate and timely information flowHelp track procurement, material deliveries, and equipment lead timesAttend coordination meetings and document action itemsSupport daily coordination with MEP subcontractors to ensure work aligns with project plansAssist with field walks to monitor progress, quality, and installation accuracyHelp resolve basic technical issues by gathering information and coordinating with the project teamMaintain updated logs for RFIs, submittals, and drawing revisionsPrepare meeting minutes, progress updates, and status reports for the project teamTrack MEP changes, updates, and impacts to schedule or costAssist with compiling testing, startup, and commissioning documentationSupport quality control efforts by helping verify installations meet project specifications and code requirementsAssist with inspections and punch list developmentHelp ensure MEP work complies with safety standards and company policiesAssist with tracking MEP costs, quantities, and change order documentationHelp review subcontractor invoices and verify progress against work completedParticipate in safety meetings and help reinforce safety expectations with subcontractorsAssist with documenting safety observations and ensuring proper PPE and procedures are followedQualificationsBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferredEquivalent experience or technical training may be considered1–3 years of experience in construction, engineering, or MEP-related roles preferredExperience with commercial, industrial, or data center projects is a plus but not requiredPhysical Demands/Essential Job Functions:This job description reflects an assignment of essential functions; it does not prescribe or restrict the tasks that may be assigned.
