Corporate Controller

We are hiring a Corporate Controller to own accounting for a company operating across the US, the UK, and Japan, working alongside a two-person accounting team with no support staff. This is a player-coach role. You will run the month end close and consolidation across entities and currencies yourself rather than review someone else's, evaluate client contracts for revenue recognition, prepare the reporting package the leadership team runs on, and act as the primary contact for our auditors across jurisdictions. Income tax, sales tax, foreign VAT, and global payroll all sit here, alongside the accounting policies and controls, the systems the work runs in, and the development of two experienced people who already know their jobs well. We are also an automation-first company, so you will decide where AI tools take on routine accounting work and own the controls that keep the results auditable.
Key Responsibilities

• Own Enthought's global accounting end to end, applying deep knowledge of accounting operations and US GAAP to translate the activity of a multi-entity, multi-currency business into accurate, timely, and auditable results
• Execute the month end close and consolidation across multiple entities, including international subsidiaries operating in foreign currencies, and maintain the accuracy of the general ledger.
• Evaluate client contracts and record revenue in accordance with ASC 606
• Design and prepare the monthly and periodic financial reports the CFO and the leadership team use to run the business
• Manage annual and special audits across multiple jurisdictions, serving as the primary liaison to our independent auditors
• Own federal and state income taxes, state sales tax, and foreign VAT returns, working with our outside tax advisors
• Own global payroll, including policy enforcement, control oversight, and the accounting behind it
• Develop the accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls, including the policies that govern how AI is used in accounting operations
• Continuously refine accounting workflows, controls, and data validation standards so reporting errors are caught before they reach the statements and the books stay audit-ready
• Decide where agentic AI tools can take on routine accounting work across transaction processing, reconciliations, the close, and reporting, then own the documentation, controls, and review that keep every AI-assisted step auditable
• Own the accounting systems, including implementations and upgrades, and partner with the CFO on the selection and secure deployment of automation tools for the finance function
• Supervise and mentor the accounting team, and build their fluency in directing AI tools as a core professional skill
• Support the CFO on corporate treasury and risk management
