Public Works Operations Manager

The Public Works Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing and supporting the operations related to streets, refuse/recycling, parking, equipment and building maintenance. The position requires leadership in planning, organizing and directing activities across these divisions, as well as managing budgets, staff and policy development. The manager is expected to ensure efficient operations while maintaining high standards of service delivery, compliance and safety. Key Responsibilities Plan, organize, assign and supervise maintenance activities related to streets, roads, alleys, sidewalks and stormwater facilities, including infrastructure maintenance. Assist in the management of refuse/recycling, parking operations and facilities, including policy and procedure development. Oversee contract management, cost controls, and key performance measures to ensure efficient operations. Assist with financial tasks such as preparing budgets, work schedules, payroll, requisitions, invoicing, and bidding and procurement. Review infrastructure conditions through data and reports, and implement long-term maintenance, repair, replacement schedules and budgets. Performs other work as required and assigned. Salary The 2026 base Public Works Operations Manager salary range is $97,941 to$131,672, with the beginning salary of $97,941 based on the current Employment Guide. On January 1, 2027, there will be a 4.75% general increase to all steps of all ranges, resulting in a full salary range of $102,593 - $137,926.
