We’re partnering with the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management (DEM) to find an organized, detail-oriented Licensing Aide. In this role, you’ll review and process licensing and registration applications, keep licensing records accurate, and serve as a helpful point of contact for licensees and the public.

Pay & Job Highlights:
Pay Rate: $26.59 per hour
Location: Providence, RI

Responsibilities of the Licensing Aide:

• Review and process licensing and registration applications to ensure they comply with applicable laws, policies, and procedures.
• Identify missing or incomplete documentation and follow up with applicants to obtain the required information.
• Enter application data to generate licenses and registrations, and maintain accurate records in both manual and computerized systems.
• Receive and record fees, taxes, and other payments related to licensing transactions.
• Respond to licensing inquiries from licensees and the public by phone, email, correspondence, and in person, and assist with the investigation of consumer complaints.

Qualifications of the Licensing Aide:

• Clerical or administrative experience processing transactions with independent judgment, preferably in a government, licensing, or regulatory setting.
• Proficiency with computer systems and standard office equipment, with accurate data entry skills.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow written and oral procedures consistently.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships with the public, licensees, and agency staff.
