Senior Scientist - Antibody Drug Development

ROLE OVERVIEW We are currently looking for a Scientist or Senior Scientist to join a leading biopharmaceutical company specialising in antibody drug discovery and development. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting‑edge therapeutic antibody research within a collaborative, innovative environment. The role is based on‑site and offers the chance to work at the forefront of preclinical antibody engineering across a variety of therapeutic areas. In this role, you will be pivotal in optimizing antibody candidates from initial target selection through to development, supporting projects that aim to improve binding affinity, specificity, and stability. KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Oversee the entire preclinical antibody development process, including target evaluation, antibody engineering, and lead optimisation to support therapeutic development. Design and execute experiments addressing antibody affinity, stability, manufacturability and functional efficacy. Manage project timelines and collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams such as discovery, manufacturing and licensing to advance antibody assets. Evaluate lead candidates for binding quality, developability and potential for progression into pre‑clinical studies. Ensure thorough documentation of research findings, present results to internal teams or external stakeholders and contribute to the continuous improvement of antibody development strategies. ROLE REQUIREMENTS A degree or higher level in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Immunology or a related field with proven experience in antibody engineering. Demonstrated expertise in target biology research, with a strong understanding of MOA, druggability and formulation requirements. Proven experience in antibody optimisation techniques such as affinity maturation, stability enhancement and molecular design. Excellent project management and collaboration skills for working seamlessly within cross‑functional teams and communicating complex data effectively. WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU?
