Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA)

Assignment Duration This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule Shift: 06:30-17:00

Job Description The Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) will work in the Surgery department, providing support during a variety of surgical procedures. This position requires expertise in general, gynecological, urology, orthopedic, and pediatric surgery, as well as proficiency in DaVinci and laparoscopic techniques.

Responsibilities Assist surgeons during operations by providing first assistance in surgical procedures. Prepare and maintain the operating room and sterile field. Collaborate closely with the surgical team to ensure effective and efficient surgical outcomes. Monitor and assess patients pre- and post-operatively. Adhere to established protocols for patient safety and infection control.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA). BLS and NRP/PALS certification. Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Surgical First Assistant. State licensure required to work as a CFSA in Montana.
