Pool Cashier

General Purpose:

The Pool Cashier is responsible for collecting money for facility use and reconciling the wrist, pool passes, daily reports. Cashier are also accountable for opening and closing procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Maintains and enforces pool safety.

Explains and enforces basic pool rules to all patrons entering and exiting the facility.

Provides information regarding facility use and hours of operation.

Assists with conflict resolution and customer relations.

Assists in general maintenance and clean-up of activities/facilities.

Accountable for wrist band, swim passes report.

Maintains property of the City of Copperas Cove pool facility.

Submits reports to supervisor on accidents, damage to facilities and equipment, problems among staff, and complaints from facility users.

Accepts fees and accounts for all fees received.

Responds to questions and concerns in person and by telephone.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Desired Minimum Qualifications:

Previous experience running a cash register and/or handling cash preferred.

Must possess good human relations skills.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers and customers.

Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

Ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance.

Ability to utilize organizational skills

Must be able to work between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. including weekends.

Selection Guidelines:

Formal applications, rating of education and experience; oral interview and reference check; job related tests may be required. Must pass physical demands for the department.

Tools and Equipment Used:

A wet/dry vacuum, cash register, phone, copy/fax machine.

Physical Demands:

Physical requirements include occasional lifting/carrying up to 75 pounds; visual acuity, speech and hearing; hand and eye coordination and manual dexterity necessary to operate chlorinating machines, perform first aid procedures. Subject to sitting, standing, reaching, walking, twisting, and kneeling to perform the essential functions.

Working conditions are primarily in a recreation facility with exposure to temperature and weather extremes. The environment is noisy and distracting.
