CUSTODIAN

Custodian

The Custodian serves as a member of the Royal Oak campus team and is under the direction and leadership of the Facilities Technician. Their role is to complete the weekly work schedule with an attitude of professional excellence, as it pertains to event set up, tear down, and cleaning of the church facility.

• Demonstrates a positive attitude and willingness to work well with people
• Shows attention to detail
• Self-motivated and able to work alone
• Dependable and arrives on time
• Able to safely lift items such as tables and chairs
• Mechanical ability is a plus

Experience Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED (required)
• Prior custodial or cleaning experience preferred
• Availability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Cleans classrooms, bathrooms, lobby, Worship Center, and hallways
• Uses WBC's digital ticketing system (FMX) to access room set-up instructions
• Preps rooms for events by moving tables and chairs into various layouts; resets rooms as needed
• General: Vacuums carpets, empties trash, dusts surfaces, wipes down counters and tables
• Bathroom: Cleans sinks/toilets/counters, wipes partitions, mops, replenishes paper/soap products

Physical Requirements:

• Able to lift up to 70 lbs regularly (e.g., tables, chairs, equipment); team lifting encouraged
• Able to climb ladders safely and perform overhead lifting
• Able to stand and walk for extended periods of time
• Able to bend, climb stairs, and crouch as needed for cleaning tasks
