Labor and Delivery Nursing Manager

Lead one of the region's busiest and most respected Labor & Delivery units. Our client, a large tertiary medical center in the Pacific Northwest, is seeking an experienced Nurse Manager, Labor & Delivery to guide a high-performing team through more than 4,000 deliveries a year. As Nurse Manager, you'll oversee day-to-day operations of a fast-paced, high-acuity L&D unit, mentor a talented team of nurses, and partner closely with physicians and interdisciplinary leaders to ensure every mother and baby receives exceptional, evidence-based care. You'll report directly to the Director of Maternal Child Health and play a key role in shaping the unit's clinical, operational, and cultural direction. What You'll Do Provide visible, hands-on leadership for a high-volume Labor & Delivery unit, driving quality, safety, and patient experience outcomes Recruit, coach, and retain a strong team of L&D nurses, fostering a culture of clinical excellence and professional growth Manage daily staffing, scheduling, and unit budget to ensure safe, efficient operations Partner with physicians, midwives, and interdisciplinary teams to support best-practice protocols in obstetric care Lead quality improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards Serve as a resource and role model during high-acuity deliveries and unexpected obstetric emergencies Champion a culture of shared governance, giving staff a real voice in unit decisions Collaborate with the Maternal Child Health Director on strategic planning for the broader service line What You Bring Current RN license (or eligibility for licensure in the state) BSN required; MSN preferred Minimum of 3-5 years of Labor & Delivery nursing experience, with prior charge or leadership experience strongly preferred National certification in obstetric nursing (RNC-OB) preferred Proven ability to lead in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment Strong communication and relationship-building skills across nursing, physician, and executive teams A passion for maternal-child health and a commitment to compassionate, family-centered care Why You'll Love It Here Join a large tertiary medical center recognized for clinical excellence and a supportive, team-oriented culture Lead a unit with the volume, resources, and acuity to keep your career challenged and growing Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package Relocation assistance available Enjoy the Pacific Northwest lifestyle: stunning natural scenery, outdoor recreation, vibrant cities, and a strong sense of community, all within reach of your new role #J-18808-Ljbffr Green Key Resources
