Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Engage fully onsite, supporting a high school student in an adaptive classroom who utilizes a wheelchair and requires comprehensive communication services to access their learning environment.

Key Qualifications:

• Hold an EIPA score of 3.5 or above (candidates with a lower score are considered on a case-by-case basis)
• Certification or licensure as a Sign Language Interpreter
• Experience in educational settings, particularly working with students with special needs, is preferred
• Familiarity with adaptive technologies and classroom accommodations is a plus
• Strong communication, collaboration, and documentation skills

Responsibilities:

• Provide in-person sign language interpretation and communication facilitation for a high school student throughout the school day
• Collaborate closely with SPED teachers and support staff to ensure all academic and social situations are accessible
• Contribute to a positive, encouraging classroom environment
• Support the student's individual needs, including those related to mobility and classroom participation
• Document services provided and communicate student progress as needed
