Maintenance Mechanic Technician is responsible for safely maintaining, repairing, replacing and modifying all processing, packaging and facility equipment with optimal quality and efficiency.Shift hours: 3:00 pm to 1:00 am Day to day Responsibilities:Operate CMMS system and demonstrate 100% functionality in order to complete work orders as well as log corrective maintenance issues in the systemEffectively communicate with production personnel and other mechanics to identify problematic areas of concern; provide and receive feedback and/or support through collection and analysis of informationPerform electrical repairs and troubleshoot for the following: PLC Controls, AC & DC motor controls, solid state motor controls, advance circuits and grounding, interpret diagrams and test equipmentRead schematics, drawings, and manuals to establish facts and draw valid conclusionsSupport facility maintenance equipment, which includes the following: waste water equipment, compressed air, refrigeration and building safety equipmentMust demonstrate an understanding of the company's objectives including productivity, yields, food safety, quality, customer service and cost goals; daily work activities should support achieving those goalsPerform daily inspections, emergency repairs, and routine adjustments; follow periodic preventive maintenance scheduleMaintain organized documentation, inspection records, etcServe as a resource to other departments in order to resolve mechanical issues and maintain production efficienciesProvide support to Process Improvement (PI) projects and participate on safety teamsPerform other duties as required or assignedPosition Skills & Qualifications DesiredPhysical Requirements: The employee is required to stand for extended periods of time (duration of the shift, 8 hours or more); walk; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop; kneel; crouch; bend continuously; or crawl. The incumbent must be able to climb stairs and ladders or step up onto a platform several times throughout the shift; and is occasionally required to sit. The employee must be able to push/pull/lift and/or move 50 pounds. The incumbent must operate light motorized equipment, hand and power tools skillfully and safely.Work EnvironmentThe employee is occasionally exposed to wet/cold conditions of 34 - 36 degrees and also at times hot conditions; high, precarious places (ex: 25 feet above ground level for extended hours); and outside weather conditions (rooftop). The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to occasionally loud, which may require hearing protection.Must possess proficient mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic troubleshooting skills (logic and control circuits) and emergency repair skills; ability to identify and repair problematic issues concerning all equipment and machinery, including finding innovative solutions to recurrent problemsAbility to use multi-meter and other measurement instrumentsAbility to read, write and speak EnglishMust work effectively in a team settingMust demonstrate a basic ability to cross-train other mechanics as well as production personnelProficiency with Microsoft computer programs: Outlook, Word and Excel (ability to enter data into the system)Ability to use Computerized Maintenance Management System to track work orders, PM's, and inventoryAbility to demonstrate math skills as part of the daily activities such as fractions, decimals, percentages and the metric system; efficient with ratios, metric system, and formulasAbility to understand schematics, drawings, and manuals to establish facts and draw conclusionsFamiliarity with preventive and reliability-based maintenanceStrong organizational skillsEffective communication skillsAbility to troubleshoot PLC controls, such as Allen-Bradley, GE FanucAbility to demonstrate proficient fabrication and welding skillsBilingual skills (English/Spanish and/or English/Polish)Food processing industry experienceShould achieve a passing score on the Ramsay examPosition Experience QualificationsMinimum 3-5 years experience with industrial, high speed processing, packaging, weighing, filling and inspection equipment OR minimum two years of technical trainingPosition Education & Training PreferredMinimum of a High School diploma/GED, some Technical School coursework, or Mechanical Certification (must have at least one of these three items to be considered)Other Information:The statements herein are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by employees, and are not to be construed, as an exhaustive list of responsibilities, duties and skills required of personnel so classified.
