Registered Respiratory Therapist

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Shifts available are from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM. This position requires working every other weekend and participating in a call rotation, approximately one call shift per month.

Job Description

As a Registered Respiratory Therapist, you will provide critical respiratory care in a dynamic healthcare environment. This role involves working in various units including NICU, PICU, adult acute care, and emergency departments.

Responsibilities

• Administer respiratory therapy treatments and interventions.
• Monitor patient progress and adjust therapy as needed based on clinical assessments.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to provide comprehensive patient care.
• Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and contribute to patient care plans.
• Educate patients and families on respiratory health and therapeutic procedures.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist in a tertiary, teaching hospital.
• Valid Respiratory Therapist License (RRT) required.
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.
• NRP certification required for NICU experience.
• Experience with ventilators (Drager V500, VN500, Hamilton T1, C1, Respironics V30, V60, Trilogy) is essential.
