Job Description
About This Role
At First Adventures Academy, we believe in creating a family-like atmosphere where our team feels valued, supported, and empowered to make a real difference in children's lives.
As a family-owned and operated program, we're deeply committed to both our staff and the families we serve. Our leadership team is hands-on, highly involved, and dedicated to building strong relationships with our teachers and families.
As a Teacher at First Adventures Academy, you'll have the opportunity to shape young minds, build lasting relationships, and be part of a team that feels like home.
We're looking for someone who is passionate, motivated, and ready to make an impact in the lives of our children and families.
What You'll DoWhat You’ll Do (aka where the magic happens):
- Create engaging, age-appropriate experiences that spark curiosity, encourage creativity, and support children's social, emotional, and cognitive development.
- Build strong relationships with families through daily conversations, progress updates, and conferences.
- Lead your classroom with confidence and positivity, modeling excellence and supporting your team.
- Keep your classroom running smoothly by following all licensing standards and center policies with professionalism and care.
- Create a safe, clean, and welcoming environment where children feel secure, supported, and ready to learn every day.
- Guide and support assistant teachers and volunteers, helping them grow while ensuring your classroom runs as a strong, unified team.
- Plan exciting activities that bring learning to life and help children grow and develop.
- At First Adventures Academy, these aren't just 'duties' - this is your opportunity to make a real impact and be part of something truly special.
- Stay organized and on top of important documentation, keeping records accurate and up to date.
- Continue growing as a professional through ongoing learning, training, and development.
What You Bring to the Team:
- The ability to successfully complete all required background checks and health screenings.
- Strong awareness and attention to your surroundings, including the ability to supervise children closely and safely at all times.
- A love for teamwork—you enjoy collaborating, supporting others, and being part of something bigger than yourself.
- Leadership, organization, and people skills that help you confidently guide a classroom and contribute to a strong, positive team environment.
- A positive, go-with-the-flow attitude—you bring good energy even on busy days.
- A solid understanding of child development—you meet children where they are and help them grow with intention and care.
- Current (or willingness to obtain) Infant/Child CPR and First Aid certification—because safety always comes first.
- A naturally high-energy, team-oriented mindset—you thrive working alongside others and help create a positive, supportive culture for staff, children, and families.
- Strong communication skills (both written and verbal) and comfort with basic technology—you connect well with families, coworkers, and leadership.
- A willingness to stay active throughout the day—this role includes walking, bending, kneeling, lifting, and engaging fully with children at their level.
Bonus Points If You Have:
- Creativity, enthusiasm, and a genuine love for working with children—you bring the fun and the heart every single day.
- At least 2 years of hands-on childcare experience—you’ve been in the classroom and know how to create a positive, engaging environment for young children.
- A passion for creating fun, engaging learning environments that go beyond the basics.
- Experience building strong relationships with families and creating a welcoming, community-focused classroom.
- Previous experience working with infants and toddlers—you understand the unique care, patience, and joy this age group brings.
- Experience leading a classroom or mentoring assistant teachers—you’re comfortable stepping into a leadership role.
- CDA, Associate’s, or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
- Familiarity with lesson planning, developmental assessments, and early learning standards.
Why You’ll Love Working Here :
- A true family environment – We are family-owned and operated, and it shows. You’ll be supported, appreciated, and never feel like just a number.
