Data Insights Analyst - Claims

Position Summary Join an analytics team within the Property & Casualty Claims department that brings data to life through visualizations and analysis. In this role you’ll partner directly with Claims leaders to understand business needs and deliver analytics, dashboards, and data solutions that influence operational decisions and strategic initiatives. Responsibilities Perform basic modeling to quantify the performance of the business area and evaluate operational changes. Report findings to consultants/senior consultants and propose preliminary recommendations based on insights. Interpret data and identify relevant analyses and possible solutions using judgment and precedents. Assist with building dashboards (using Excel and/or proprietary software) and help prepare reports for Senior Consultants and/or Management. Provide quantitative support to interpret and/or model data and explain variances/trends. Respond to and fulfill ad hoc data requests. Reporting Relationship Manager or above. Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Knowledge of financial, economic, and/or statistical practices, procedures and principles, including a specialty area of the business. Develop technical expertise and product knowledge. Good analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to effectively resolve simple to moderately complex situations and issues. Attention to detail. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of internal and external business partners. Collaborative ability to work with team members at all levels and explain potentially complex information. Good time‑management and strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and complete work and/or projects effectively. Ability to exercise independent judgment and make sound business decisions. Adaptability to change and value diverse opinions and ideas. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and other business‑related software. Education and Experience Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Economics, Mathematics, Finance, Statistics, or a related field. Typically up to two years of related work experience. Experience with SQL, Looker and/or data visualization tools is a plus. Salary In certain jurisdictions, CNA is legally required to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation for this role. In District of Columbia, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New York and Washington, the national base pay range for this job level is $47,000 to $78,000 annually. Salary determinations are based on various factors, including but not limited to relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location.
