Warehouse Manager (Southaven, MS) Reporting to Operations, the Warehouse Manager is responsible for the overall success of the warehouse and will oversee all warehouse activities including shipping, receiving, employee relations, inventory control, and building operations. The Distribution Center Manager must analyze trends, solve problems, and motivate and develop their team. What you will do Implement best practices across the distribution operations and work collaboratively with our other Distribution Centers; Through the support of the Warehouse, Shipping and Receiving Supervisors, oversee employee relations which include assisting with final recruitment activities, new staff training, coaching and developing associates, staff disciplinary action meetings, performance reviews and salary increases, vacation approvals, enforcement of health and safety procedures, communication of new policies, and maintaining positive staff morale levels. Evaluate the effectiveness of, and develop alternatives for, current work standards, procedures, controls and staffing to achieve accurate and timely movement and processing of inventory. Able to foresee potential performance issues based upon industry climate, seasonality, and changing business needs and develop solutions. Work with Division Managers and other relevant departments to analyze reports, provide solutions, and adjust business policies and practices as needed. Review and analyze weekly productivity reports of items shipped and ordered, research discrepancies or anomalies, and ensure all issues are resolved in a timely manner. Ensure that Company policies are followed and upheld with regards to the transportation of product and customers’ shipping rules are observed by all carriers. Remain abreast of new packaging material trends and maintain positive supplier relations. Oversee and participate in the annual Distribution Center labor budgets and forecasts, ensuring the Distribution Center remains on track to achieve budgeted goals. Supervise and execute the annual inventory count. Ensure the building and premises are well-maintained and safe at all times. Act as the key contact person in case of break‑in, fire, or other security issues, coordinate repair work or renovations, and manage contracts with garbage and other service providers. Required Skills 7‑10 years of related work experience managing a medium‑sized (60‑100 employees) automated distribution center. Completed college degree in Business, Commerce, or Supply Chain Operations Management/Inventory Control. APICS certification and/or knowledge of WMS is an asset. Proficient computer literacy (MS Office); ability to understand complex logistics data analysis and develop recommendations. Proven ability to effectively lead and motivate large teams, leading by example and implementing difficult change initiatives. Demonstrated leadership, coaching, interpersonal, and communication skills. Able to motivate all levels of employees with keen business judgment, professional competence, credibility, flexibility, and personal integrity. Must have a proven ability to be a team player. Strong and proven ability to communicate effectively with all levels of customers, employees, co‑workers and suppliers. Proven and verifiable track record of previous success and improvement accomplishments within a distribution environment. Demonstrated organizational ability and follow‑through as well as a strong ability to adapt to change. Demonstrated ability to work in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment. Strong attention to detail.
